    Congratulations to Olivia M, Leah G and Lauren D who are part of Reign Allstars cheerleading squad at Derwent Valley Allstars Cheerleading Club, Consett. The students were involved in securing a place at The Cheerleading World Championships in Florida. Although they were involved in securing the place, this did not mean they were entitled to be on the competing squad. They have now successfully earned their place on the squad and will be going to Florida in April! Read More

    Paws and Read – Welcome Therapy Dogs Nationwide

    The Academy is delighted to be registered with the fantastic charity Therapy Dogs Nationwide. The charity's PAWS AND READ programme is designed to give students opportunities to increase their confidence in, and enjoyment of, reading. We are very happy to welcome back volunteer, Pam, who has been a regular visitor to the Academy over the past few years along with her therapy dog, Bella. This year Pam will also be accompanied by Sasha, a recent addition to her family of therapy dogs. A number of students in Years 7 and 8 will have a weekly session reading in the LRC with Sasha during one of their ASPIRE sessions. Read More
