    Children’s Book Week – Give the Gift of Reading

    We are celebrating Children’s Book Week (w/c 13/11/17) Our student librarian team have selected a number of books from the library which follow this year’s theme of ‘Escape to Everywhere’. Their display features books about evacuation in World War 2, alternative existences, exotic and far flung locations as well as hard-hitting topical subjects such as child soldiers in Africa. Any student who borrows a book from the library during Children’s Book Week will receive a raffle ticket and will be entered into a prize draw! Read More

  • RAF100 Event
    8th November 2017

    On Wednesday 8th November, approximately 120 students from year 9 spent the day with the Royal Air Force and the Engineering Development Trust exploring the exciting world of STEM. From building model radio towers and racing K-Nex jets, to coding robots in a ‘disaster zone’, the students worked through a selection of practical problem-based challenges, the students worked in teams to solve issues faced by the RAF on a daily basis.     The Royal British Legion together with Never Such Innocence are inviting young people all over the world to share a message of remembrance and hope, by saying ‘Thank You’ to the First World War generation. To enter students should submit poetry or artwork inspired by the events of 1914-1918. Entries inspired by the ‘Greatest Thank You’ campaign could feature in the Legion’s famous events, including the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. Read More
