Maths Challenge Success for Consett Academy as the Junior Maths Challenge moves online

The Junior Maths Challenge is a national competition run by the UK Mathematics Trust and each year Consett Academy students in years 7 and 8 are selected to participate in this challenge. Usually, students complete a multiple choice set of questions on paper, but this year the challenge was moved online for the very first time.

43 of our students successfully participated in the challenge, and really did themselves and the school proud!

Poppy L (Year 7) and Sam C (Year 8) performed particularly well and were awarded gold certificates.

Congratulations also to the following students who were awarded silver and bronze certificates in the challenge:

Silver certificates:

Lily M, James T and Connor H in Year 7 and Caitlin M and Mackenzie T in Year 8.

Bronze certificates:

Charlotte L, Daniel W, Grace S, Erin L and Leah R-T in Year 7 and Karina LW, Matthew G, Matthew J, Paras Y and Iona T in Year 8.

A huge well done to all the students who participated in the challenge online this year!
