Barry’s Bargains Q & A at Consett Academy

On Thursday 7th June, Barry Kingston the owner of Barry’s Bargains, came to Consett Academy to talk to our Year 9 Enterprise students about his successful business. Barry talked to us about why he set up his business and the different aspects of his business. We asked him lots of different questions as primary research for our coursework. We also got to find out about how to set up a business and how he became the successful entrepreneur he is today.

Barry gave us an excellent insight into everything a business has to do to develop and what qualities are required to lead and manage a business. He told us about the legal structure of the business and how he achieves his goals. He talked about his love for being an entrepreneur since he was a small child and how he got his business off the ground and its subsequent growth. We were made aware of the difficulties and obstacles that come with setting up a business and how hard it is to run a business.

We found out so much about his business and the history behind it, all of which will help us in completing our coursework.

Thank you Barry.
