Uniform Reminder

As we approach the end of this half-term, I would like to thank all who support Consett Academy’s uniform policy by ensuring their child attends the Academy properly dressed in our full  uniform. We often receive positive comments about how smart our students look.

There are some students however, who don’t always wear the correct uniform and recently we have noticed an increase in the number of students choosing to wear the wrong style of trousers; particularly girls.  It is important that students wear black loose fitting, formal trousers.  Can I please take this opportunity in stressing that it is not acceptable for students to wear leggings of any sort.  In addition, students should also wear socks that cover their ankles and appropriate black footwear.

Following February half term, we will not permit students who wear inappropriate uniform.  We would therefore ask for your support in this matter by ensuring that your child has the correct trousers and wears the correct full uniform.  If your child is wearing unacceptable trousers, they may be sent home to change into the correct uniform.

We appreciate, for some parents, it is not easy to buy new uniform immediately, so by writing to you now, we would hope that this allows you to plan ahead.

We appreciate your support in this matter and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the appropriate Year Manger.
