Another set of impressive A’ Level Results for Consett Academy Sixth Form!

Consett Academy students have done it again, achieving an impressive set of results. Our overall pass rate is an outstanding 100%, for the 4th year running, with almost 20% achieving the highest grades of A*/A, and 47% being awarded A* - B. The overwhelming majority of students have achieved their predicted grades, with many surpassing expectation, some achieving the coveted A* grade at A2.  We are incredibly proud of them all!

Students leaving Consett Academy this year are yet again progressing to some of the country’s most prestigious and competitive university destinations, as well as accepting some very competitive Higher Apprenticeships.

We are delighted to report that the vast majority of our students were accepted into their first choice universities.  Given the intense competition surrounding university admissions, we are especially proud of our students for their success in achieving their desired destinations.

Mrs Rachel Somerville, Director of School and Curriculum at Consett Academy commented “Consett Academy Sixth Form students work hard and are dedicated to their studies.  A’ Levels have definitely increased in difficulty with the introduction of the linear examinations and therefore students have had to demonstrate a real determination and resilience throughout their two years.   I am very proud of every one of them for the successes that we can see both in their results and the personal achievements and journeys that they have been on as they have completed their courses.  I would also like to praise the staff for once again showing their continued support and dedication towards our students.  Our Sixth Form is the success it is because of the relationships we form between staff and students and the journey we take with them.  I wish all of our Year 13 cohort the very best for their future and hope that they will go on to reach their potential in their future careers.”

Staff are now preparing for enrolment of next year’s Sixth Form to build on this year’s success. Students can enrol on 23rd and 24th August 2018.

Consett Academy will be holding a Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 20th September at 6.00pm for any Year 11 students who are interested in joining our successful Sixth Form in September 2019.  To find out more about what Consett Academy has to offer go to www.consett-academy.org.uk/SixthForm
