Consett Academy Recognised Nationally for Sixth Form Academic Progress
Last month Consett Academy was presented with the prestigious Academic Progress Award in London at the Learning Plus UK Awards Ceremony.
Each year Learning Plus UK, give a limited number of awards to schools and colleges. The awards recognise best practice by Post-16 providers and the support given to young people to improve their learning outcomes.
Out of over 600 centres, Consett Academy was one of only five, nationally, who won an Academic Progress Award.
The Academic Progress Award recognises the progress students make in A’ level subjects at Post-16, based on the outcomes of those students who completed their Key Stage 5 study in summer 2016.
The awards were presented at Learning Plus UK’s annual summit in London, March 2017.
Mr Reynolds, Executive Principal, Consett Academy said, “This award recognises the hard work and success of our A’ level students and the dedication of their teachers and the whole Sixth Form team.”
Due to these outstanding results Consett Academy has come top in the Government performance tables for County Durham.
